Get Outdoors Partnership Programme
This initiative builds on the long-running success of the Get Outdoors project, a scheme that has provided beach wheelchairs and all-terrain mobility equipment for over 18 years, supporting around 800 users each year.

GET OUTDOORS
Now, we aim to expand and enhance access to nature for people with limited mobility. By supporting outdoor mobility equipment and promoting inclusive outdoor experiences, the initiative will strengthen connections across Pembrokeshire and ensure that everyone can enjoy the outdoors.
The Get Outdoors Partnership Programme offers a flexible four-tier system, enabling organisations and individuals to support inclusive outdoor access in ways that match their capacity and goals. From the free Connector tier to the visionary Path Maker level, each package offers increasing visibility, engagement, and impact.
All partners are encouraged, and, where appropriate, may be invited to act as hosts for outdoor mobility equipment or experiences if this aligns with the project’s needs and their own capacity. However, hosting is not a requirement for every partner; participation as a host will be at the discretion of the Get Outdoors team, depending on need and suitability
How it works
To keep making outdoor spaces in Pembrokeshire accessible to everyone, we need your support to cover essential costs, including:
- New Equipment: The average wheelchair costs around £6,000. The recently released electric beach wheelchair is £15000
- Maintenance: Keeping a beach wheelchair in top condition costs £100 per year.
- Transport: Running a vehicle to deliver equipment where it’s needed. £60.55 per day
- Staff Time: Ensuring we provide the best service possible. £150 per day+
From ‘Supporter’ upwards, you annual fee directly contributes to the ongoing equipment and project running costs, supporting the scheme’s ability to meet guest needs and adapt to demand and requests.
Joining the Get Outdoors Partnership Programme is a powerful way to connect with your community, support inclusive access, and showcase your commitment to accessibility.
Benefits for partners include:
- Taking part in volunteer days, community events and network days
- Recognition through newsletters, social media, and our website
- Annual impact reports with usage data and user stories
and much more!
