The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust Fundraising Challenge

Posted On : 14/07/2022

The 70th Anniversary Challenge invites participants to either walk 70 miles or complete 70 sea swims over a timescale of seven months. Walks can be done independently anywhere in the Park, or as part of the Authority’s 70@70 guided walks programme, scheduled to run until Friday 23 September 2022.

Routes of the 70@70 walks range from two miles to seven miles long and include well-known stretches of the Coast Path as well as inland areas, such as the Gwaun Valley and Preseli Hills. Places on these walks are limited and booking is essential at www.pembrokeshirecoast.wales/70at70.

Jessica Morgan, Director of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Trust, said: “The Challenge offers a unique opportunity to get active and visit some of the Park’s most iconic locations, as well as discover its hidden gems – all while raising money to help protect it for future generations.

“Whether you’re an experienced athlete, or someone looking to improve their personal fitness or take the plunge with open water swimming, you’re unlikely to find many exercise locations that rival the scenery and wildlife of the Pembrokeshire Coast.

“If you’re interested in supporting this campaign and becoming a Force for Nature, please send an email to support@pembrokeshirecoasttrust.wales to be informed of the next steps. Participants will be asked to set up a Just Giving page and join our fundraisers’ Facebook group for encouragement. Once this is done, they can make a start with the fundraising challenge.”

Information on over 200 walking routes throughout the National Park can be found at
